Ida Pettersson Preutz

Ida is a textile artist and designer working with hand-crafted patchwork techniques to create abstract op-art compositions and graphic patterns. Her practice is rooted in traditional textile craftsmanship where each piece is built with precision: she constructs individual “pixels” of fabric into strict, linear rows, which are then carefully assembled into larger patchwork works.

Inspired by op-art pioneers, her work explores optical illusion through rhythmic structures, vibrating lines, and shifting perspectives—swelling vortexes and pulsing grids that constantly reframe the viewer’s gaze.

Alongside her abstract work, she develops bold colourful pattern designs with figurative motifs.

Her clients include IKEA, IKEA Museum, Dovecot Studios, Klippans Konsthall, Ronneby Konsthall, and Form/Design Center in Malmö.
